Basketball Recap: Gary West Side Comes Up Short

Gary West Side was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were beaten by the Michigan City Wolves 65-38. The Cougars were probably out for revenge after losing 47-35 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Paulecia Isom continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Michigan City, putting up 28 points in addition to eight steals and six assists. The dominant performance gave Isom a new career-high in points. Divine Woods was another key player, going 8 of 16 on her way to 20 points along with seven boards and three steals.

Gary West Side's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Michigan City, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-16.

Both are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Gary West Side will face off against Highland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Michigan City has already played their next game (against South Bend Adams), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
