Champaign Central came out on top against Normal West on Monday thanks in part to Haley Helm's efforts. Helm turned in nothing short of a gem, striking out 11 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances.
