Basketball Recap: Union County Gets the Win

Union County played in conference for the first time on Friday and they got just the result they we're looking for. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Gibbs Eagles, sneaking past 50-47. The Patriots have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Union County's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Gibbs, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Union County will welcome Washburn at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Washburn is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.5 points per game this season. As for Gibbs, they will square off against Scott at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
