Baseball Recap: Babcock Comes Up Short

The Babcock Trailblazers came up short against the Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy Eagles on Tuesday and fell 9-5. The Trailblazers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Babcock saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rayden Waletko, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That double was Waletko's first of the season.

Waletko wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Babcock kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for Babcock: they were averaging 5.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.2.

Babcock's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-2.

Babcock didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 11-0 win against Mason Classical Academy on the 27th. As for Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 8-3 loss against Sarasota Christian on the 27th.
