Volleyball Recap: La Serna Lancers vs. Paloma Valley Wildcats
La Serna and Paloma Valley squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but La Serna had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The Lancers' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.
La Serna was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Paloma Valley work for it, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-20, 26-24, 26-28, 25-21.
Paloma Valley can attribute much of their success to Abigail Johnston, who had nine digs and two aces. Another player making a difference was Mei Mai, who had four digs and two aces.
La Serna's defeat dropped their record down to 23-9. As for Paloma Valley, their win bumped their record up to 24-6.
La Serna does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Paloma Valley, they will square off against Cerritos at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Dons will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight.
