Volleyball Recap: Alton Takes a Loss

Alton lost against Red Bud back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Redbirds fell just short of the Musketeers by a score of 2-1.

Alton's offense was headlined by Madeleine Ducey and Olivia Williams, who picked up four kills apiece. They were helped by Gracie Milford and Mackenzie Cochran, who contributed five assists each. Milford was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Red Bud can attribute much of their success to Devyn Liefer, who had 18 digs. That's the most digs Liefer has posted since back in October of 2024.

Alton has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. As for Red Bud, the victory (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 19-1.

Alton has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Jersey on the 20th. As for Red Bud, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Southwestern on the 20th.
