Spring-Ford is a perfect 7-0 against Upper Merion Area since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Rams will head out to challenge the Vikings at 4:00 p.m. Spring-Ford's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Upper Merion Area's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Upper Merion Area will be up against a hot Spring-Ford squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Everything went the Rams' way against Pottsgrove on Thursday as they made off with an 8-0 win.
Spring-Ford got a great performance from Dom Ruggiero as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Ruggiero has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Luca Cavaliere, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jake Witmer, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
Spring-Ford kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Upper Merion Area hadn't done well against Methacton recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Vikings sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Warriors.
Tristan Fanning looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has become a key player for Upper Merion Area: the team is undefeated when he allows at most three earned runs, but 3-4 otherwise.
Upper Merion Area has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Spring-Ford, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Spring-Ford has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Upper Merion Area struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Spring-Ford took their victory against Upper Merion Area in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
