Soccer Game Preview: Sharpsville vs. Wilmington

Sharpsville is 2-8 against Wilmington since September of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Blue Devils will head out on the road to challenge the Greyhounds at 7:00 p.m.

Sharpsville is headed into Wednesday's contest following a draw, the team's first since September 3. Neither they nor Mercer could gain the upper hand on Monday so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Meanwhile, Wilmington waltzed into their match on Monday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. Their defense stepped up to hand the Big Reds a 6-0 shutout. Considering Wilmington have won eight matchups by more than two goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

With that draw, Sharpsville's record moves to 6-7-2. As for Wilmington, their victory bumped their record up to 15-3.

Sharpsville couldn't quite get it done against Wilmington in their previous meeting back in September as they fell 2-0. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
