Softball Recap: Sweetwater's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

While Sweetwater didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Ooltewah Owls on Tuesday. The win was just business as usual for the Wildcats, who after seven games remain undefeated this season.

Sadie Scott made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Lillian Woodruff was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

Sweetwater pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Ooltewah, they moved to 6-2 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Sweetwater wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 12-0 win against Meigs County on the 20th. As for Ooltewah, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-8 defeat against Bradley Central on the 20th.
