Baseball Recap: Frankton Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Frankton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Alexandria-Monroe Tigers on Thursday. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 8-1 win the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Hunter Ulery spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Frankton is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-6 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Frankton's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Caine Oakley, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Frankton now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Alexandria-Monroe, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-8 record this season.

Frankton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-5 loss against Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian on the 10th. As for Alexandria-Monroe, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 10-2 defeat against Lapel on the 9th.
