Basketball Recap: Heartland Huskies vs. Tri County Trojans

Heartland lost against Tri County two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Heartland Huskies lost 56-31 to the Tri County Trojans. The Huskies' loss continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row.

Despite the loss, Heartland still got an impressive performance from Carter Siebert, who posted eight points. Another player making a difference was Sam Quiring, who earned five points and three steals.

Drew Siems was his usual excellent self, going 9-for-16 on his way to 22 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven assists for Tri County. Siems is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in each of the last 22 games he's played dating back to last season. Jason Wehrman was another key player, going 5-for-9 to rack up 12 points and eight boards.

Heartland's defeat dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Tri County, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-14.

Heartland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tri County, they will challenge Tekamah-Herman at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Tri County is facing Tekamah-Herman at the right time seeing as Tekamah-Herman is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
