Volleyball Recap: Shelby County Takes a Loss

After flying high against Central of Coosa County on Monday, Shelby County came back down to earth. The Wildcats came up short against the Briarwood Christian Lions on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Wildcats' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-8, 25-13.

Shelby County's offense was headlined by Kaydence Connell and Maddie Talton, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Wendy McGehee and her nine assists. Madison Tolleson controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Shelby County's defeat dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Briarwood Christian, the victory (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 19-1.

Coincidentally, Shelby County and Briarwood Christian will both be playing Sylacauga the next time they take the court. The Lions will head out to face the Aggies at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Wildcats will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
