Baseball Recap: Winters Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Winters put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their undefeated season alive. They were the clear victor by a 19-3 margin over the Miles Bulldogs. That's two games straight that the Blizzards have won by exactly 16 runs.

Diego Rodriguez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring five runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to hits, as he's now got three or more in each of the last three games he's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Will Dunham, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. Jonah Whitaker was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Winters was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .484. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Winters' record now sits at 4-0-1. As for Miles, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Winters and Ballinger will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field one another at 4:30 p.m. on March 21st. Miles will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Christoval at 4:00 p.m. on April 4th.
