Basketball Recap: R.J. Reynolds Demons vs. West Forsyth Titans
R.J. Reynolds was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt an 85-57 loss at the hands of the West Forsyth Titans. While losing is never fun, the Demons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 338th, while the Titans are ranked 25th).
Defeat or not, R.J. Reynolds got some senior leadership from Grant Burns and Andreas Kazakos. Burns posted 20 points, while Kazakos went 7 of 14 to rack up 16 points and five rebounds. Miles Broadnax was another key player, putting up six points.
R.J. Reynolds' loss dropped their record down to 6-16. As for West Forsyth, they pushed their record up to 20-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
Coming up, R.J. Reynolds will venture away from home to challenge Reagan at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. R.J. Reynolds knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Reagan likes a good challenge. As for West Forsyth, they will be playing at home against East Forsyth at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
