Basketball Preview: Galax Maroon Tide vs. Auburn Eagles
Galax is 1-9 against the Eagles since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Galax Maroon Tide will be playing in front of their home fans against the Auburn Eagles at 7:30 p.m.
While Galax couldn't quite beat the Blue Devils on Friday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 28-point loss they were dealt on Wednesday. Galax fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 42-39. Galax has not had much luck with the Blue Devils recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Meanwhile, Auburn waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Lord Botetourt and snuck past 65-63. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Galax's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Auburn, they pushed their record up to 12-7 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home.
