Canyon Hills is 7-1 against Hoover since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Rattlers will welcome the Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Canyon Hills is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against Chula Vista by a score of 23-12.

Canyon Hills found their leader in sophomore Ma'Kahi Fields-Cook, who rushed for 195 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. Fields-Cook's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his tenth straight game with at least 121 rushing yards.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hoover). They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Sweetwater 52-49. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cardinals.

He was instrumental in Hoover's win, throwing for 345 yards and five touchdowns, while also rushing for 130 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 carries. Those five passing touchdowns gave Manuel a new career-high. Hoover's leading receiver Rahni Grant Jr. was Manuel's top target yet again, picking up 153 receiving yards and two scores.

Hoover didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jayden Cunningham and Grant Jr. Grant Jr. also posted 153 receiving yards, which is notable because Hoover is 3-1 when he posts at least 100 receiving yards, but 3-5 otherwise. The Cardinals received some extra help from Noah Contreras, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Canyon Hills' win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Hoover, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
