Football Recap: San Clemente Comes Up Short

While it was all tied up 10-10 at halftime, San Clemente was not quite Mission Viejo's equal in the second half on Friday. They took a hard 34-16 fall against the Diablos. If the Tritons were looking for revenge after losing 23-7 to the Diablos when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Although San Clemente took the loss, they still got scores from Jaxson Rex and Shane Kiley.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mission Viejo to victory, but perhaps none more so than Luke Fahey, who threw for 378 yards and one touchdown while completing 74.2% of his passes. Those 378 passing yards gave Fahey a new career-high. KJ Woodbury JR was Fahey's top target, picking up 151 receiving yards and one score.

San Clemente's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Mission Viejo, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1.
