Football Recap: Gavin Hill and Corey Fletcher Secure Win for Carver + How To Watch

Carver strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They put the hurt on the Decatur Bulldogs with a sharp 37-14 victory. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 30-20 loss the last time these two teams met.

A big part of Carver's win came down to the chemistry between Corey Fletcher and his top target Gavin Hill. Fletcher threw for 166 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes while Hill rushed for 42 yards and one touchdown.

Carver was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 243 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Carver didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Terrious Favors, Hill, and Joshua Raven picked up one apiece. Carver got some further help from Michael Johnson Jr.: he picked up four sacks, forced one fumble, and made nine total tackles.

Carver's record now sits at 3-0. As for Decatur, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carver will head out to face off against Mundy's Mill at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Decatur, they will venture away from home to take on Stephenson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
