Reed is 9-1 against Bishop Manogue since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Miners at 3:45 p.m. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Reed sitting on 14 straight victories and Bishop Manogue on three.
On Saturday, Reed beat Damonte Ranch 6-2.
Kehaulani Tambaoan was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Tambaoan wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Tiare Kanae, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Reed kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Bishop Manogue's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Saturday. They blew past Reno 11-0. Considering the Miners have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Reed, Bishop Manogue also got a great game from a two-way player: Kaylee Sanchez. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Sanchez was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kiki Harris, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sis King, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.
Reed's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-3-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Bishop Manogue, their record now sits at 16-8-1.
Both Reed and Bishop Manogue just can't seem to miss. The Raiders have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Bishop Manogue struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Reed skirted past Bishop Manogue 1-0 in their previous matchup on April 3rd. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
