Softball Game Preview: Mifflinburg Wildcats vs. South Williamsport Mountaineers

The Mifflinburg Wildcats are taking a road trip to face off against the South Williamsport Mountaineers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mifflinburg will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Mifflinburg's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Selinsgrove. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won 14 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for South Williamsport's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Athens on Monday. The Mountaineers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mifflinburg pushed their record up to 15-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for South Williamsport, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-5.

Mifflinburg might still be hurting after the 8-1 loss they got from South Williamsport when the teams last played back in April. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
