Volleyball Recap: Andrews Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins at Home

If Andrews was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Klondike on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs lost 3-0 to the Odessa Bronchos on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Mustangs have suffered since November 4, 2024.

While Andrews was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Odessa's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-21, 25-22.

Andrews lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Anah Bueno, who had 14 digs and two aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Danlee Fisher, who had 13 digs and two aces.

Andrews' loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 23-6. As for Odessa, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-13.

Andrews and Odessa will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Mustangs will square off against rival Greenwood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Odessa is set to challenge their familiar foe Permian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
