Volleyball Recap: Tell City Takes a Loss

Tell City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Tecumseh Braves. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Marksmen of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Tell City sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-16.

Despite the loss, Tell City saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brooke Evans had 17 digs and two assists. Those 17 digs set a new season-high mark for Evans. Elaina Embry also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Lydia Wilson was the offensive standout of the match as she had 15 digs and four assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 14 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Tell City's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Tecumseh, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-2.

Tell City has already played their next contest (against Mitchell), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Tecumseh, they have also already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Eastern on the 20th.
