Baseball Game Preview: Oaks Christian Lions vs. Thousand Oaks Lancers

For the second straight game, Oaks Christian will face off against Thousand Oaks. The Lions will host the Lancers at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Oaks Christian's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Thousand Oaks' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Oaks Christian's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Thousand Oaks 10-0. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won four contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Oaks Christian got a great performance from Ty Hanley as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave Hanley a new career-high.

At the plate, Ryan Sheffer was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Luke Puls, who scored a run while going 2-for-5.

Thousand Oaks has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season. As for Oaks Christian, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-5.
