Basketball Recap: Coventry Skates Past St. Raphael Academy with Ease

There's no place like home for Coventry, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They claimed a resounding 75-39 victory over the St. Raphael Academy Saints. The Oakers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Saints, too.

Coventry's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brayden Martin led the charge by dropping a double-double on 23 points and ten assists. Another player making a difference was Tyler Broady, who almost dropped a triple-double on ten points, 11 boards, and nine assists.

Martin wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Coventry was working as a unit and finished the game with 28 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Coventry's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-7. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points per game. As for St. Raphael Academy, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-11.

Coventry will challenge Pilgrim at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pilgrim has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for St. Raphael Academy, they will be playing at home against South Kingstown at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in South Kingstown's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.
