Football Game Preview: Brandon Eagles vs. Gateway Panthers

The Brandon Eagles will square off against the Gateway Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Brandon 12.9, Gateway 6.7) so any points scored will be well earned.

Brandon is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They slipped by Freedom 13-12. The victory was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on four straight.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gateway). They blew past Liberty, posting a 32-0 win. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Panthers considering their 13-point performance the matchup before.

The victory got Brandon back to even at 7-7. As for Gateway, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Brandon took their win against Gateway in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 25-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
