Basketball Recap: Water Canyon Comes Up Short

Water Canyon played a tough game on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 70-34 defeat at the hands of the South Sevier Rams. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Rams are ranked 31st).

South Sevier's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Stockton Roberts, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 16 points. Slade Summerhays was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

Water Canyon now has a losing record at 3-4. As for South Sevier, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

Water Canyon will venture away from home to challenge Beaver at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Sevier, they will welcome Millard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. South Sevier is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.1 points per game this season.
