Basketball Recap: Kennedy Catholic Now 13-3 over Last 16 Games

Kennedy Catholic's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Archbishop Molloy Stanners by a score of 38-31. Given the Gaels' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 39th, while the Stanners are ranked 232nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kennedy Catholic can attribute much of their success to Ashari Emuze, who posted 22 points. Emuze's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 18 points.

Kennedy Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.6 points over those games. As for Archbishop Molloy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11-1.

Coming up, Kennedy Catholic is taking a road trip to challenge Cardinal Spellman at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Archbishop Molloy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
