Softball Recap: Peters Township Comes Up Short

Peters Township was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 16-2 to the Thomas Jefferson Jaguars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Indians of the 16-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

Peters Township saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braylin Fusco, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That double was Fusco's first of the season. Emery Grimes was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Peters Township's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Thomas Jefferson, they pushed their record up to 4-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Peters Township is set to square off against their familiar foe Baldwin at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Thomas Jefferson will challenge rival Connellsville at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
