Football Game Preview: Hillside Comets vs. Voorhees Vikings

The Hillside Comets are taking a road trip to challenge the Voorhees Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Things were looking good for Hillside after they put the first points on the board on Saturday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took a 21-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of Carteret. While the Comets didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Ramblers 7-0 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Voorhees waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 21-14 victory over the Highlanders.

Hillside better keep an eye on Matteo Tramutola. He was instrumental in Voorhees' win, rushing for 154 yards and two scores. Tramutola's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 109 rushing yards.

Hillside's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Voorhees, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.

Everything went Hillside's way against Voorhees when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Hillside made off with a 40-14 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Comets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
