            Baseball Recap: Denison Yellow Jackets vs. Sherman Bearcats        
        
		
        
        
            Denison had lost seven straight on the road, but  on Thursday they dropped their record down to 5-24 to make it eight. They took  a  5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sherman Bearcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bearcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  7-5  on Tuesday.
As for Sherman, the  victory was  the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-16-1. The  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.
For Sherman's part, Denison's batters probably weren't too happy with  Brody Ganzer, who pitched a no hitter  and racked up seven Ks (he gave up  a single walk). Ganzer has been consistent: he hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in seven consecutive appearances.
 At the plate, Sherman saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Eric Encinas, who  went 1-for-3 with one  RBI.  Elijah Newton was another,  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with one  run.
 We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Denison is set to  challenge  their familiar foe Anna  at 7:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Sherman will  face off against  rival Lovejoy  at 7:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
