Eastern is 9-1 against North Adams since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Warriors will take on the Green Devils at 5:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Eastern's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on West Union with a sharp 13-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Dragons: they've now won nine in a row.
Averi Tabor and Addison Arey made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Tabor pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Arey struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. At the plate, Tabor went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run, while Arey went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Arey a new career-high.

In other batting news, Charlize Hauke and Chloe Hauck did most of the damage at the plate: Hauke went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI, while Hauck went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those two RBI gave Hauke a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maddison Simpson, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
North Adams came out on top against Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run second inning. The Green Devils blew past the Blue Jays 14-0.
Like Eastern, North Adams also got a great game from a pair of two-way players: Carlee Garrison. On the mound, Garrison pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Marnie Tolle tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At bat, Garrison went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Tolle went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Chloe Armstrong was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Melanie Wood, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
North Adams always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .629. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Eastern's record is now 10-3. As for North Adams, their record now sits at 13-3.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Eastern hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game. However, it's not like North Adams struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Eastern couldn't quite get it done against North Adams when the teams last played on Thursday as they fell 8-3. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
