Dyer County's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Tipton-Rosemark Academy on Tuesday. The Choctaws were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Rebels. Considering the Choctaws have won seven contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Rylee Key made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Abbie Gibbons was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kierstyn Ray, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.
