Softball Recap: Lovejoy Leopards vs. Aledo Bearcats

Lovejoy won the last time they faced Aledo and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Leopards sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the Bearcats.

Izzy Guarriello made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Tatum Vitek was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and two doubles. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Aubrey Struthers was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Lovejoy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Aledo only posted a batting average of .226.
