Basketball Recap: Nick Heckemeyer's Big Game Can't Quite Lead St. Elizabeth over Dixon

After a string of three wins, St. Elizabeth's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They lost 65-41 to the Dixon Bulldogs. The Hornets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 62-59.

St. Elizabeth lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Nick Heckemeyer, who posted 12 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Gavin Williams, who scored two points in addition to five blocks and three steals.

St. Elizabeth's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Dixon, their record now sits at 4-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Elizabeth will welcome Chamois at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Dixon, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Licking at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th.
