Basketball Recap: Deer Valley's Win Ends Ten-Game Losing Streak on the Road

After only 27 points in their last matchup, Deer Valley made sure to put some points up on the board against Armijo on Monday. The Deer Valley Wolverines snuck past the Armijo Royals with a 73-68 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Wolverines as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Deer Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ignacio Powell led the charge by putting up 16 points in addition to seven boards and five steals. Devon Madison was another key player, earning 18 points and four steals.

Armijo lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Antonio Geronimo, who posted 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isreal Legree, who had 17 points.

Deer Valley has already played their next game, a 95-28 defeat against Liberty on the 14th. As for Armijo, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 59-57 victory against Johnson on the 15th.
