Baseball Game Preview: Serra Cavaliers vs. Van Nuys Wolves

The Serra Cavaliers will be taking part in a tournament against the Van Nuys Wolves at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Serra 3.5, Van Nuys 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Serra fell victim to St. Paul and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Swordsmen. Considering the last time the Cavaliers couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Friday as neither Van Nuys nor Vaughn made it on the board until the seventh inning. The Wolves fell just short of the White Tigers by a score of 2-1.

Van Nuys saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nate Renard, who went 1-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Serra's defeat dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Van Nuys, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 11-5.
