Softball Recap: Evangelical Christian Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North Fort Myers, Evangelical Christian was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls. The win continues a trend for the Sentinels in their matchups with the Cowboys/Cowgirls: they've now won seven in a row.

Hayden Billie spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on seven hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Keaunna Green was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Anayeli Guzman was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.

Evangelical Christian hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as LaBelle struck out eight times.

Evangelical Christian's victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for LaBelle, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-9.
