Middleburg strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 28-27 W against the Clay Blue Devils. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Broncos also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Travis Pinkard had a dynamite game, rushing for 138 yards and three TDs. Those 138 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mason Bacus, who threw for 157 yards and one touchdown.

Despite the loss, Clay still got an impressive performance from Landon Martin, who rushed for 230 yards and one score while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, and also threw for 78 yards and one TD.

Middleburg's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Clay, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Middleburg will face off against Zarephath Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Clay, they will square off against Tocoi Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
