Preview: Oakfield-Alabama/Elba Aggies vs. Avon Braves
The Oakfield-Alabama/Elba Aggies will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Avon Braves at 7:00 p.m.
Last Friday, Oakfield-Alabama/Elba ended up a good deal behind York/Pavilion and lost 33-14.
Avery Watterson put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 136 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. Watterson is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Pangrazio, who rushed for 155 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Avon humbled Notre Dame with a 43-9 victory. The result was nothing new for Avon, who have now won three games by 28 points or more so far this season.
Oakfield-Alabama/Elba's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 4-4. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely York/Pavilion, Canisteo-Greenwood, and Avon. Avon is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
Oakfield-Alabama/Elba came up short against Avon in their previous meeting back in September, falling 13-6. Will Oakfield-Alabama/Elba have more luck at home instead of on the road?
