Preview: El Paso Leadership Academy East Leaders vs. Cathedral Fighting Irish
The El Paso Leadership Academy East Leaders's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Cathedral Fighting Irish at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th.
Back in January, El Paso Leadership Academy East had to suffer through a rough 62-23 loss at the hands of Chaparral. While losing is never fun, El Paso Leadership Academy East can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 1295th in Texas, while Chaparral is ranked 100th in New Mexico).
Meanwhile, Cathedral had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.9 points), and they went ahead and made it 11 on Tuesday. They walked away with a 56-47 victory over Immanuel Christian.
El Paso Leadership Academy East's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-4. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.2 points per game. As for Cathedral, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-11 record this season.
