Baseball Recap: Mount Michael Benedictine Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Ralston, Mount Michael Benedictine was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Raymond Central Mustangs as they made off with an 8-2 victory.

Alex Poole tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Dominic Beninato was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Alessandro, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Mount Michael Benedictine has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-12 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Raymond Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.

As of now, neither Mount Michael Benedictine nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
