Baseball Recap: Essex Takes a Loss

If Essex was feeling good fresh off their 19-0 takedown of Franklin on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Trojans fell just short of the Northumberland Indians by a score of 4-2 on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Indians: they've now lost three in a row.

Essex saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyran Howard, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Essex's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Northumberland, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1.

While Essex had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
