Basketball Game Preview: Staley Falcons vs. Lee's Summit West Titans

Staley is a perfect 3-0 against Lee's Summit West since January of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Staley Falcons will head out to square off against the Lee's Summit West Titans at 7:00 p.m. Staley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Lee's Summit West likes a good challenge.

Staley was handed a heart-breaking three-point loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Blue Springs on Friday. Staley simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Blue Springs 55-23. The win continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won nine in a row.

Meanwhile, Lee's Summit West posted their closest victory since January 12, 2024 on Friday. They skirted past Blue Springs South 51-49. The win was all the more spectacular given the Titans' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while the Jaguars are ranked 14th).

Lee's Summit West is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-14 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points over those games. Staley's record now sits at 16-6.

Staley strolled past Lee's Summit West when the teams last played back in January by a score of 42-25. The rematch might be a little tougher for Staley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
