Soccer Game Preview: McHenry vs. Cary-Grove

McHenry is 1-7 against Cary-Grove since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Warriors will face off against the Trojans at 4:30 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Thursday just wasn't the day for McHenry's offense. They lost 7-0 to Huntley on Thursday. While losing is never fun, McHenry can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while Huntley are ranked 34th).

Meanwhile, Cary-Grove fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Crystal Lake Central on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-1. The defeat continues a trend for Cary-Grove in their meetings with Crystal Lake Central: they've now lost four in a row.

Cary-Grove now has a losing record of 2-3-2. As for McHenry, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4-3.
