Baseball Recap: Lincoln Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

Lincoln never let their opponents score on Monday. Everything went their way against the Central Crossing Comets as they made off with a 16-0 victory. This was payback for the Lions, who suffered a 14-9 loss the last time these two teams met.

Lincoln got a great performance from Nolan Lehman as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Anthony Pernotto was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Darek Whitfield, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Lincoln was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central Crossing only posted a batting average of .214.

Lincoln pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Central Crossing, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5-1.

Lincoln will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Comets: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
