Baseball Game Preview: South Charleston Black Eagles vs. Capital Cougars

The South Charleston Black Eagles will head out to square off against the Capital Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Oak Hill hit South Charleston with a six-run fifth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Black Eagles came up short against the Red Devils, falling 11-0.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Capital's offense. They lost 8-0 to Lincoln County on Thursday.

South Charleston has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season. As for Capital, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-14.

Everything went South Charleston's way against Capital when the teams last played back in March, as South Charleston made off with a 14-2 victory. Will the Black Eagles repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
