Football Game Preview: Lampasas Badgers vs. Burnet Bulldogs

Lampasas has gone 8-2 against Burnet recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Badgers will look to defend their home field against the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Friday, Lampasas didn't have quite enough to beat Brownwood and fell 42-39. The loss was the Badgers' first of the season.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Bryson Roberts, who threw for 122 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 43 yards. Wesley Stephens helped out on the ground, rushing for 80 yards.

Burnet not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since October 11, 2024 (when they won 43-7). They blew past Marble Falls 35-14. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won four in a row.

Lampasas better keep an eye on Josiah Coronado. He was instrumental in Burnet's win, rushing for 125 yards and a pair of TDs.

Burnet's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Lampasas, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.

Lampasas didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Burnet when the teams last played back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with a 42-38 victory. Will the Badgers repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
