Lake Country Christian falls despite strong effort from Josiah Biddle

Recap: Lake Country Christian Eagles vs. Covenant Christian Cougars

The Lake Country Christian Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 70-47 walloping at the hands of Covenant Christian. Lake Country Christian has struggled against Covenant Christian recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Lake Country Christian still got an impressive performance from Josiah Biddle, who scored 17 points. Charles Campbell was another key contributor, scoring five points.

Covenant Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Aaron Turner out in front who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Turner is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Matthew Boughton, who scored 13 points along with three steals.

Lake Country Christian has not been sharp recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-18 record this season. As for Covenant Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Country Christian will play host again and welcome Pantego Christian, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pantego Christian is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54.2 points per game. As for Covenant Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Trinity Christian at 7:00 p.m. Trinity Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 814th, while Covenant Christian is ranked 122nd).
