Baseball Recap: Valley Christian Academy Has No Trouble Against Coastal Christian

Valley Christian Academy won the last time they faced Coastal Christian and things went their way on Friday too. The Lions put the hurt on the Conquerors with a sharp 10-1 win. Considering the Lions have won three matches by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Chase Barretto spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up ten Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Valley Christian Academy is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 2-4 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Torin Ellis, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Christian Brewer was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Valley Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Coastal Christian, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
