Basketball Recap: Bradford's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bradford). They walked away with a 70-58 victory over the Belleview Rattlers on Monday. While the Tornadoes didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Leading Bradford to victory were Jordan Cason and Maliki Cobarris. Cason made all 8 shots he took to post 16 points along with seven rebounds and four steals, while Cobarris posted 13 points in addition to five assists and five boards. With that strong performance, Cason is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Andrews, who put up eight points.

Belleview lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Al Johnson, who posted 16 points and six rebounds. The contest was Johnson's third in a row with at least ten points. Malik Cauthen was another key player, putting up 16 points and eight rebounds.

The win (which was Bradford's fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points per game. As for Belleview, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.

Bradford is taking a road trip to face off against P.K. Yonge at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Bradford's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. Belleview will take on Umatilla in a holiday battle at at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Belleview is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.6 points per game this season.
